Startup Roundup – 24th May
GDI is constantly on the lookout for new players, disruptive business models, and innovative technologies in the online dating market.
This Startup Roundup is presented in partnership with The Social Discovery Group, who are currently eager to connect with startups in the social discovery and online dating space.
Pairus – A dynamic matchmaking platform: Currently inviting singles to join its waitlist, this new platform looks to curate matches for each individual by harnessing the power of advanced technology. The platform’s CEO and Co-Founder is Emily Lyons, the founder of matchmaking agency Lyons Elite.
Single and the City – Fun singles events: This platform organises dating events in Austin, Dallas, NYC, Houston, and more. Events include ‘Save Me’ events to connect singles with firefighters, silent discos, speed dating, and other fun ways to meet new people offline.
Lesbos Biker – Women-only biker dating site: For women, by women, this new platform looks to connect women who are interested in the biker lifestyle. The platform includes forums and group chats for community building.
In Case You Missed It! Here’s last week’s Startup Roundup:
Duolicious – Online dating, but based and true love-pilled: With over 50,000 users, this dating app uses personality tests, communities, and a unique matching algorithim to connect compatible singles. The platform has been received with controversy online, being dubbed the “femcel dating app”.
TinDog – For dog owners: This social dating app looks to connect dog owners, offering users the ability to filter by distance, interests and other categories. This ultimately helps users to find dogs in their area and see information about their owners.
Zoukru – Connecting Black people all over the world: This platform serves black people and people of other ethnicities who love black love and are interested in meeting other singles. Beyond its matchmaking services, it also looks to provide coaching and styling services.
