Howdy – Aussie App To Find Your Perfect Farmer Match

Howdy to any lonely Aussie singles working in agriculture: this recently launched dating app creates romantic connections between farmers who share similar rural lifestyles.

It was founded last year by farmer and single Australian woman, Mia Ryan, after she herself struggled to find another farmer to date.

Seeing this gap in the dating app market cemented the app’s mission to become the leading app used by lonely Aussie singles working in rural areas, to facilitate romantic connections for them. Users can customize their search radius to be closer to their location, or widen it to look for someone Australia-wide.

While mainly aimed at farmers to meet other agricultural workers, Howdy also welcomes users who aren’t farmers but want to meet one, with a view to swap their city lives to join their love in the Australian bush if sparks fly.

Users can look up first and last names through the search function, which is helpful for rural dating – for example, you can look up the name of a ‘bronc rider’ at rodeo (translation for unfamilar readers: bareback horse rider on a bucking horse) to see if they have a profile and connect on Howdy.

Built with long-term love in mind, there’s no swiping. Instead, you have to read more information than just someone’s job title or age, to decide whether they’re a love match. The icebreaker feature offers conversation starters, like “would you rather” prompts, to help move past the awkwardness of making the first move.

New users get a 7-day free trial of the subscription-based app, which costs $7 weekly (AUD).
