Dating.com Survey Suggests 45% of Female Users Cheated on During Lockdown
Dating.com, the flagship product of Dating Group, has conducted a survey to investigate how people have dealt with being cheated on while in quarantine.
The research was conducted by asking relevant questions to users of the dating platform. Three-quarters of respondents said that they have turned to online dating as a way to move on from past relationships during the current times of social distancing.
45% of women said that they had been cheated on since early March, around the time that COVID-19 outbreak was declared a pandemic. Furthermore, 55% of all participants suspect that they might have been cheated on.
Maria Sullivan, Vice President of Dating.com explained in a statement: “Stay at home orders placed a strain on many existing relationships and really put those connections to the test.
“The distractions of everyday life were removed during quarantine and, unfortunately, many couples were unable to rediscover that deeper connection.”
Last month, similar research from Dating.com found that the majority of singles were excited to get back to their regular offline dating schedule, after spending the past few months going on virtual dates.
Dating Group announced a $50 million Corporate Venture Capital fund at the beginning of March, which was planning to invest in early-stage startup dating apps.
