HubStars Launches Vaccine Badges Ahead of UK Government Drive
Popular dating solution provider HubStars has released a range of new vaccine badges so singles can display their current vaccination status on their dating profile. It could also be a practical tool to encourage other users to get vaccinated before they meet offline.
The tags can now be easily added through the ‘Edit Profile Settings’ area on any HubStars-powered platform. The condition could be updated at any time should their status change.
There are three options: ‘Get The Jab’ which indicates the person is booked in or intending to have one in the future; ‘1st Dose Done’ showing they’ve had one vaccine; and ‘Vaccinated’ to celebrate if they’ve received both doses.
The feature is now available on all of HubStars’ 2,000-plus brands and their over one million new monthly members.
At the start of this week, the UK government announced it was working with a number of popular dating apps to boost vaccine uptake among the younger generations. Companies like Match Group, Bumble and muzmatch have all agreed to take part in the scheme.
Users of these platforms are also able to add stickers to indicate which stage of the journey they’re at. However, there are no background checks to actually prove if they’re telling the truth.
Singles on Match Group brands will receive bonus premium products, like Super Likes on Tinder and Roses on Hinge.
The UK’s Vaccines Minister Nadhim Zahawi said in a statement: “I am thrilled that we are partnering up with dating apps to boost vaccine uptake across the country. This is another incredible asset to our vaccination programme – the biggest and most successful in our history.”
The same brands announced a similar partnership with the White House in May, before the UK collaboration had been officially confirmed.
