OkCupid and Photoroom Partner for Ex Erasure Campaign

Dating app OkCupid has partnered with photo-editing platform Photoroom for a new campaign. The companies have created a tool which lets singles erase their exes from a photo, helping them to start dating again with ideal profile photos.

In a study of Gen Z daters, 55% of respondents shared that they have photos where they’d like to erase an ex. In light of this, OkCupid and Photoroom are working together to give daters an opportunity to put their best foot forward by using ideal photos…without their ex.

As part of this campaign, OkCupid added a series of new matching questions about this topic, which have since been answered more than 250,000 times. 54% of Gen Z and 50% of Millennial singles shared that they have a good photo of themselves that needs their ex erased. 

Of these groups, 43% explained that they don’t want to see an ex; 41% said they want to get over the breakup; and 16% shared that they want to use the photo on a dating app profile.

58% of OkCupid daters prefer an individual photo or selfie for their profile pictures. When it comes to match’s photos, 67% prefer individual photos, while 17% want to see an activity / hobby.
