Flamme Develops Personality Framework for Relationships
Flamme – The Couples App supports couples to strengthen and develop their romantic relationship. The platform has now developed a personality classification system based on 16 distinct profiles, helping individual to better understand themselves and their romantic partner.
Ankit Nayal, Founder & CEO of Flamme – The Couples App, explained in a new blog post that the platform was harnessing its understanding of technology and human relationships to develop a framework for understanding personality types.
Influenced by the popular Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Flamme’s 16 Relationship Personalities looks at four key areas for each individual: Introversion vs. Extroversion; Sensing vs. Intuition; Thinking vs. Feeling; and Judging vs. Perceiving.
While personality tests and insights are widely found, it was important to tailor this for intimate relationships. “Romantic relationships are complex, dynamic, and deeply personal, thus requiring a more nuanced understanding than what general personality types might offer”, Nayal explained.
One way that a personality type may manifest in a relationship, is for example a partner who is passive and values peace, while conversely someone may prefer to be straightforward and direct.
Another example could be an individual who takes a heart-first approach and prioritises feelings, while another person could focus on practicality and adopt a ‘head-first’ perspective, Nayal highlights.
The impact on relationships
As the platform now explores how it can seamlessly integrate this personality framework alongside its existing features, it highlights where these insights will provide value for those in relationships.
Nayal shares that this framework is intended to help couples achieve a deeper emotional connection, as they better understand their own needs and those of their partner. Furthermore, better understanding of personality types can help couples to communicate more effectively.
By supporting growth and better understanding, Flamme also looks to help couples address weaknesses in their relationship, catering to the unique dynamics of each relationship rather than pushing a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach, Nayal says.
