Startup Roundup – 5th April
GDI is constantly on the lookout for new players, disruptive business models, and innovative technologies in the online dating market.
This Startup Roundup is presented in partnership with The Social Discovery Group, who are currently eager to connect with startups in the social discovery and online dating space.
Hearts – The first ever pay-per-match dating app: Hearts has dirupted the freemium business model. You and the person you wish to chat with pay $0.99 each only if both want to chat. All features on the app are free, you get unlimited vistors and likes, and there are no subscription plans. Hearts is available on the App Store and Play Store.
hati – The app that takes dating off the apps: Having launched its waitlist on Valentine’s Day, this new dating platform is already gaining attention as it promises to help users find meaningful dates, rather than collect matches. The platform doesn’t have any chat functionalities, instead prompting users to arrange phone call dates.
eight – Curated dating events in London: Coming soon, this platform looks to organise “a back to basics dating experience” for those who’ve had enough of dating apps. The invite-only platform has been going viral on TikTok, with its videos being viewed millions of times.
In Case You Missed It! Here’s last week’s Startup Roundup:
AceSpace – For those on the asexuality spectrum: AceSpace is a social network & dating platform for those identifying as Asexual, Aromantic, Aceflux, Aegosexual, Demisexual, Gray-asexual and more. It allows users to find and filter compatible singles based on the level of sex and romance aversion they have.
Koiji – Find the one who feels like home: This dating platform is now inviting singles to get involved for early-access opportunities to meet their long-term love. The Koiji team spent six years working with philosophers and psychologists to fully understand how singles see the world, the basis of its matching algorithm.
The Cliq Connection – Exclusively for participants in Australia’s National Disability Insurance Scheme: This platform helps NDIS participants to form relationships, build friendships, and maintain a sense of companionship.
