Startup Roundup – 12 April
GDI is constantly on the lookout for new players, disruptive business models, and innovative technologies in the online dating market.
This Startup Roundup is presented in partnership with The Social Discovery Group, who are currently eager to connect with startups in the social discovery and online dating space.
HealthSteps – Boost wellness, build ties: This health-focused dating app helps users to be physically strong through fitness, as well as mentally strong through social connection. The platform can track workouts and excercise activity, as well as match users who are looking for a workout buddy with similar interests.
Blended – Where genuine connections begin: This app promises to bring people together based on their shared interests and values. Supporting those looking for love, or friendship, Blended looks to foster authentic connections.
Cherrish – Where 21st century couples meet: This dating platform is currently testing its MVP, building its team, raising funding, and aiming for launch in Winter 2024. It promises to deliver a female curated dating space for ambitious women and confident men, opting for an invite-only policy.
In Case You Missed It! Here’s last week’s Startup Roundup:
Hearts – The first ever pay-per-match dating app: Hearts has dirupted the freemium business model. You and the person you wish to chat with pay $0.99 each only if both want to chat. All features on the app are free, you get unlimited vistors and likes, and there are no subscription plans. Hearts is available on the App Store and Play Store.
hati – The app that takes dating off the apps: Having launched its waitlist on Valentine’s Day, this new dating platform is already gaining attention as it promises to help users find meaningful dates, rather than collect matches. The platform doesn’t have any chat functionalities, instead prompting users to arrange phone call dates.
eight – Curated dating events in London: Coming soon, this platform looks to organise “a back to basics dating experience” for those who’ve had enough of dating apps. The invite-only platform has been going viral on TikTok, with its videos being viewed millions of times.
